I'm not sure if I'm excited about presents or nervous about cooking the big festive feast myself for the first time but I've woken up super-early this Christmas morning!
Yesterday my boyfriend and I surpassed all previous baking attempts by making this decadent Yule log, which we're looking forward to sampling large quantities of today! If anyone can think of a good use for the leftover chocolate ganache and amaretti cream let me know, or we'll be eating it straight from the bowl...perhaps it's time I made amaretto tiramisu again...?!
I was delighted to see on Twitter that a few people (including my own Dad!) were making my Coca Cola ham with sweet mustard glaze for their Christmas Day breakfast...I'd love to hear any feedback and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have noticed that the 5% of my photos that aren't of food are of Penfold, aka #littlecat, who's been my man's best friend for 10 years now. He's got the most expressive face of any animal I've ever met, and his antics always keep us entertained. Amazingly he hasn't attacked the Christmas tree baubles yet, but he did decide to join us for the Big Bang Theory trivia game last night (read: try to eat the dice and sit on the board as we were ignoring him)...!
As a break from photos of roasted birds, booze and Brussels sprouts I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite photos of our cute kitty from this year. #littlecat might sometimes sulk like Kevin the Teenager, but his life is pretty sweet really...it's basically Christmas every day!
We will be giving him lots of extra cuddles today, and I hope you are spending this Christmas with your loved ones too...eat, drink and be merry!xxx
Like any child, #littlecat knows that jumping on the bed and pummelling us will result in his breakfast being served sooner...
